Based on the operation status and process of the fan, a preliminary analysis of the reasons for the vibration of the cooling tower shows that there are mainly the following possibilities:
1. Fan blade angle error. Excessive angle error during installation of each blade can cause differences in the windward surface of each blade, resulting in different loads on the blades and causing vibration of the cooling tower fan.
2. Blade imbalance. The fan blades of this cooling tower are made of fiberglass, with a hollow belly. After completion, torque weighing is carried out. Due to the manual process, there is a certain error in the mass on the south side. After torque weighing, although the imbalance is reduced, it cannot be eliminated. There is still a certain amount of imbalance, which will cause vibration during the operation of the cooling tower.
3. Transmission shaft dynamic balance error. The transmission shaft is a high-speed running component with a speed of 980r/min. During manufacturing, if the dynamic balance of the transmission shaft is not properly calibrated or has low accuracy, it will inevitably affect the stability of the fan and cause excessive vibration of the cooling tower.
4. The installation coaxiality of the transmission shaft and coupling is low. Because the transmission shaft is connected by a gear chain, it is connected to the motor and reducer respectively through self-aligning bearings and gear chains. If the coaxiality is not good, the output shaft of the motor and the input shaft of the reducer will be on different axes, causing eccentricity and causing excessive vibration during the operation of the cooling tower fan.
5. The transmission shaft is bent. Bending of the transmission shaft can also cause vibration of the cooling tower fan. Due to the long transmission shaft of the fan and the material being thin-walled steel pipe, when the transmission shaft is bent, unbalanced torque will be generated during operation, resulting in vibration of the cooling tower fan.
6. The steel frame is severely corroded and the welds are cracked. The steel structure cooling tower pillars and crossbeams are connected by welding technology to form a steel structure. If some of the steel frames are corroded, the weld seams crack, and the entire steel frame shakes greatly, the cooling tower will vibrate.
7. The structural strength of the fan and motor pillars is insufficient. The cooling tower fan and motor are directly placed on steel pillars. If the strength of the pillars is insufficient, they will shake during operation, causing excessive vibration of the cooling tower.
8. Gearbox accuracy error. During the operation of the gearbox gear, tooth breakage, severe pitting, excessive tooth clearance, and bearing damage can all cause increased vibration during fan operation.
